How long do the batteries last for?
Electric car batteries will last 12-15 years before they are no longer serviceable. All electric car batteries are warrantied by the auto manufacturers for eight years. Electric car batteries are made from lithium-ion, the same material as your smartphone and laptop batteries. Lithium-ion batteries are 90% recyclable. At the end of your car's life, the battery still has value. A number of emerging companies are looking at using used electric vehicle batteries for energy storage.
